Arthur’s Used Books is an Online Book Shop located in the heart of the Cariboo Region of Central British Columbia, Canada.
The actual shop, although it has a physical location, is beyond the immediate reach of any urban centre and is therefore not accessible to the general public.
The Owner is Arthur Topham who has been living in the Cariboo for the past 50 years. Over that period of time Arthur has been an avid lover and collector of books, magazines, newspapers (and many other things not suitable for sale in a book shop). While some might call him a Packrat he prefers to see himself as a Collector of historic records, items and tools.
Arthur’s Used Books (AUB) is home to an eclectic collection of books, magazines and newspapers and assorted other papers for seekers and researchers interested in knowledge, factual history, inspiration and plain old pleasure in delving into the wealth of knowledge that’s been bequeathed to humanity by those who’ve come before us.
Here at Arthur’s Used Books we cater to the individual who is looking for reading material that will take them into realms off the hum drum of the beaten track. Rare, controversial and unusual books are our common fare although we also carry New York Time’s Best Sellers and other status quo books and magazines and newspapers on a large variety of subjects.
***A note on pricing: Like many book sellers AUB references their price listings with Amazon’s branch company known as Abebooks[.]com in order to determine a fair price. Given the outrageous shipping costs which tend to surpass the actual cost of many books AUB does its best to equal or beat the lowest price for any book of comparable quality. As well, here in the local area where AUB is located (Quesnel, B.C. Canada), if a prospective buyer lives in or around the city then it’s possible to forego postal costs all together and books, etc. can be delivered to the purchaser locally free of charge.
